What an IDEA Sirjee

There are thousands of companies and millions of share holders. At the end of each financial year, all these companies send their annual report to all their share holders.
They prepare the report with glossy design, photographs and fill it with lots of data which not many may understand, which [Sometimes] may not be even true[Sathyam]. May be many don't even bother to look at it. [ I just look at the compensation paid to board directors and the so called top brass][Shame on them, they do tell their compensations in print to millions of faceless strangers, but preach their employers not to discuss the paltry salaries with their colleague friends]
Think about the time, effort and more importantly money spent on this ritual.
Why not just send that as soft copy rather than the hard copy? Rather than the money saved[Dear India Posts, Sorry for the potential loss of revenue] think about the trees that would be saved by this.
So dear companies, stop bragging about how you are turning your offices in to paperless offices, how socially responsibly you are, how you are going green and saving the mother earth on PAPERS for which trees where cut down!
Update: Infy sends the report via e-mail for share holders who have updated their email in their DP account. Of course, still if you want to be a tree killer and need an hard copy you can opt in for that. Thanks Pranav for enlightenment and softcopy :)

FRIENDS

Why do we need Friends?
No, I aint asking, "Do we need friends?" All I am asking is, "Why do we need friends?"

Is it to have KINGFISHER with us during the good as well as bad times?
Is it to lend an helping hand when we need help?
Is it to help us sort our problems, if not solve atleast  give out ideas to solve them?
Is it to listen to your rants and ravings?

May be, but to me more importantly, "KICK us in the place where it hurts the most and bring some sense in us and set us right in our due place, when we do something wrong or say something wrong when we shouldnt even think of doing them"

More especially, asking me to sing one of my most favorite songs, the very famous song of Dennis Leary! When i do stupid things and behave and deserved to be called  that way.

p.s
Dedicated to all my true friends who really do care for me. I OWE YOU ALL!

Ideal Interview

  1. What is your Name?
  2. How much do you expect?
  3. When can you join us?
The only three questions that I would like to be asked in a Job interview!

Global Village

To know what is globalization and it's effect, the best book is "The world is flat" Thomas Friedman.
If you are looking for a much more crispier one, it is here .[Both in my humble opinion]

Thanks to the lots of factors mentioned in the book, I am lucky enough to be a global citizen of this global village.

Once when I went out for a lunch to a Japanese restaruant with a vietnamese guy along with an indian and a desi american[Green Card Holding NRI] in US of the A.

The vietnamese guy who was eating the rice with chop sticks asked me, "How do you people eat rice with fingers?"

Until last friday, I was thinking, the above conversation holds the top rank in my globalization experience until I happen to over hear the following conversation.

An European counterpart asked an Indian Counterpart, " How is your wife doing?" Indian replied, and asked back, "How is your Dog?"

Want WMD! Wanna Annhilate!

Once there was a famed fearless warrior[well, still he is] who was dedicated to nothing but his mission.
Most of the time the pursuit of his mission would be on the top of his mind.
He was well trained that he can quickly slip in to the mission within minutes.
He loved the mission to a great extent he would linger and live with the effects of mission even after he returned from it. He could never just get enough of it.

He always responded to the call of the mission unhindered by the trivial stuff like meeting and training.

Though adverse environmental conditions hardly mattered to him to pursue his mission,Off late, his mission is in big time TROUBLE!The mighty warrior cannot do justice to his mission and be focussed on it as he used to be.

Day in, Day out it has become a never ending struggle to destroy his enemies and all known strategies to mankind have failed. Sometimes he even wonders, "Is it because they are females, that he can't win them over completely?" His enemies are a perfect testimonial to the modern day context of mighty and gigantic Goalith falling to the small sling of David. His epic battle with his enemies is of such magnitude that he thinks he would have beaten this record hands down[or together]!

They outnumber him in large numbers and he is desperate enough to start the search for WMD[Weapons of Mass Destruction] in Iraq[or for that matter in any damned part of the world] to annhilate his enemies completely putting an end to their existence, who have been habitating this earth for some 95 million years!

Emp1: Okie, lets ask Paul, the Octopus.
They take the picture of the managers, write their names on it and drop on it.
To their utter horror, Octopus jumped out of the tank and committed suicide :(

The fall and the rise of the Mercury

One fine day[no on a very damned, cursed day]  an IT professional, fell terribly sick, like never ever before in the history of his life. He was completely wonder stuck as he dint know when, where, why and how the thunderbolt struck him. You know these IT people go crazy like anything if they cant get to the bottom of it and find the root cause. To add fuel to the fire, he did even faint out even with out seeing any beauties! The Director and board members of his room felt his condition was worse than BP oil spill and needs professional medical attention.[Well you see,Most of his room mates educate the doctors on what the drugs actually do,what options they do have and they don't;)]

Of all things he fears the most,[well one among the very few] is getting injected. In spite of his initial protestations, they succeeded to drag him on to a doctor. Right in the beginning he set the terms and conditions, "NO INJECTION, I CAN'T RUN,YOU CAN'T CHASE". Out of his IT experience he definitely knows how to set the expectations right in the very beginning and to talk smooth.

The doctor  moved on with preliminaries asking age, measuring height and weight ,and started measuring the arterial pressure using sphygmomanometer, [yeah we average joes call that as blood pressure]now the doctor was much more worried than the person who accompanied the IT professional which was pretty clear from the frowns on his forehead.

The doctor was like, man this is more like a project that is turning towards red or for all i know it could have already turned red.

The IT professional asked the doctor will he mind checking his BP after 5 minutes of his meditation. Doctor with a little bit of reluctance agreed to it.

After five minutes, when the doctor measured, the mercury was raising so high the systolic measurement was between 135-145 and diastolic measurements was between 85-95. In plain terms he was traversing between prehypertension to hypertension.

There the doctor uttered those 4 words, the most overused words in the universe in all languages combined, may be next only to "I Love You" "IT'S A MEDICAL MIRACLE". Then, he shot me a barrage of questions What kind of meditiation is that? Where did you learn? Was it from that swamiji or this swamiji? Though he was caught in the act, they say his pranic healing was good? You attended his sessions? If not (them)him, Who else? How long have been practicing it? Can you teach me this? How much does it cost? How long will it take to learn? Is it difficult to learn, practice.

Wondering at the role reversal, who should be asking whom a lot of questions, decided to play along and said shall try to answer your questions.

"I started learning this some 3-4 years back. Gurus are no one special but very normal people like us.All I have to do is think about the salary i get, more especially the salary hike and some unfulfilled promises here and there. I might know some people who could even break this sphygmomanometer"

Alas, the doctor had the last laugh when he said , "Oh I should have asked your profession well in the beginning, you work in IT, that explains it.!"
